The State of California is now requiring all single family dwellings to be retrofitted with water conserving interior plumbing fixtures. The fixtures that need to be compliant are toilets, urinals, interior faucets and shower heads.
The law will go into effect for residential properties effective January 1, 2017. Multi-family properties owners have until January 1, 2019 to make the same changes.
Real Estate transfers will trigger a disclosure from the seller to the buyer regarding this issue. Properties will need to be compliant before the transfer of ownership is complete.
